"What a disppointment.
My son and I went for a late Sunday Brunch today and once I'd got over the shock cost of the breakfast (£10!), I settled down and looked forward to receiving my food.
Served almost immediately (not always a good sign) my bacon rashers and pork sauasage were horribly undercooked - my toast arrived 5 minutes later when I eventually managed to attract the
attention of a helpful waiter and complained.
The plate was returned with a fresh egg and further cooked meat. It tasted ok but really, cooking a good brekkie should be a given.
My son requested a Strawberry Milkshake - a Smoothie arrived, (no ice-cream as promised with the milksake) - when he
complained that it was a Smoothie, he was told it wasn't - and quite curtly by the waitress.
Overall a very disappointing experience. I'll be frying up at
home next weekend. I remember this place when it was a fab, friendly and affordable cafe. "

"Largely organic and very veggie it may be, but don't be fooled, this ain't no hippy, hippy shake; it's just all you could hope for in a local cafe – seasonal menus, all-day brekkies, good coffee, light lunches, afternoon tea, substantial evening meals, newspapers and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. "Oh dear. This place goes from bad to worse. There's been a significant fall off in food quality since the middle of last year, but yesterday proved that service quality has hit rock bottom.

Cafe On The Hill seem to be employing inexperienced amateurs and they clearly care nothing about protecting the reputation of the business. We waited an hour for our food.
We watched other tables being served with the same meals we had ordered, though they had arrived long after us. We asked what was happening of course, and when our food finally arrived, we complained about the wait. Our waitress asked if there was anything she could do and I suggested that she make one of our cups of coffee complimentary. Unbelievably, the answer was "no"! This was despite the fact that the "supervisor" I asked to speak to (looking suspiciously like a waitress who'd been told to come out and take the flack) admitted that our order had been lost in the kitchen. Her only response to our complaint - reiterated a number of times - was "it's not my fault"!

Dire. And unbelievable that they wouldn't make a tiny effort to try to salvage their reputation.

Food also wasn't good - hard scrambled eggs, undercooked sausage and flaccid chips. Shan't be going back."
